Everyone at the Bracknell Hornets would like to wish Ben Ealey-Newman and David Millner the very best as both players move on to pastures new for the 20/21 season. Both men were instrumental in the 19/20 campaign as they helped guide the Hornets to fourth place, finishing as joint top points scorers for the team (49 points each).
With the premature end to last season back at the beginning of March, preparation for the upcoming season started immediately and it came as no surprise that both Ben and David found themselves with multiple offers within days following such a stellar campaign. Offers which quickly saw them move on to new clubs.
Coach Mark Saunders “Adding David to our roster was a pivotal moment in our season I feel; he gave us so many playing options as he’s such a fluid player and has such great vision on the ice. A great locker room guy and a player who instantly fitted in here, I’d like to thank David for everything he contributed last season.
“Ben has been a Bracknell player for a very long time and in my opinion, is the very epitome in what a Bracknell hockey player should be – tough, highly skilled and tenacious in everything he does.
“Having played with and against Ben and spent the last two seasons coaching him, I know first hand he is a fierce competitor and someone who will be missed here as he moves on to the next challenge in his hockey career.
“I’d like to wish both players the very best and thank them for everything they’ve contributed while playing for the Hornets.”
David, Benny: We sincerely thank you for your time with the Hornets. You will both be missed!
