This past Monday we announced that our second signing of the 20/21 season was none other than Mr Bracknell himself, Matt Foord. Returning to the club to resume his role as player/assistant coach, ‘Foordy’ brings the priceless experience of icing in over 1000 games as he focuses on the development of the next generation of players both on and off the ice.
But did you know that last season, his 31 points in 32 games was his highest ever points per game return in a season? We sat down with the man himself to find out more…

What got you into hockey? My Mum and Dad have always watched hockey, Dad took Mum to watch the Wembley Lions for their first date and they have been going ever since, I shared their love for this amazing game.
What age did you start playing? 6
NHL team? Toronto Maple Leafs
Hockey hero? Doug Gilmore (Killer)
Favourite UK rink? Bracknell, Nottingham or Cardiff old rink. All for different reasons.
Hidden talent/hockey party trick? I’m a pretty good Story teller, Just ask me.
Superstitions? I use to have loads but not anymore, just try and prepare the same way.
Favourite actor? Al Pacino
Favourite band? Too many to narrow it down!
Most memorable hockey moment to date? Winning the league and play off double with the Bees.
Your most embarrassing moment? Far to many to mention.
Favourite dressing room prank? There are so many, I started my hockey journey with players like Perry Papas and David Heath so I learnt them all young.
What do you do away from the rink? I love spending time with my family, I have 3 children that keep me very busy.
Three things you would take with you on a desert island? My Family, my phone and a boat.
Best thing about hockey? The game itself and the people your meet.
