After signing with the Hornets, Matt said “With a job move down south for the coming season I contacted Mark at the Hornets to see what opportunity there may be to play in Bracknell and I’m pleased to say it’s worked out well. I’m looking forward to a change of scenery playing for the Hornets and also the challenges of a new league set up in NIHL1 South. Hopefully we can put in some big performances early in the season and set the tone for the rest of the year and I’m looking forward to seeing how good this team can be. I’m excited to get going in September!”

Head Coach Mark Saunders said “Matt is a well-established netminder and a proven winner in the North NIHL leagues and I’m very happy he’s been able to commit to the Hornets for the upcoming season. I know Matt from working with him in the England National Team Program in his strength and conditioning role and I know he’s a true professional in everything he does – I’m looking forward to him bringing that pro-level to the Hornets. He comes well recommenced from Mike Clancy at the Widnes Wild and I’d like to thank Mike for helping with Matt’s move to us for the 2019-20 season. I’m looking forward to seeing him win us some games.”
